but today will be the real fun! none of us drank too much last night, so we shouldn’t be hungover today. i got a spray tan last night.. the lady STRONGLY discouraged me from getting the level 3 (highest). i told her i didn’t care what it looked like, the worse, the better.

so now i have the tannest knuckles and toes you’ve ever seen.

i’ve been having so much fun preparing for the party this year. themed events are always so much fun. plus it’s almost like halloween in february. woot!

in other news, cath’s car died, so they are in “car shopping” mode. mike wants her to get a Honda Element.. i hope they do, that’s been one of my favorite cars for a long time!

i have come to the conclusion that i can’t make my ipod play karaoke type songs (with lyrics) out through to my tv. :( oh well. it’s fun to sing over the regular songs anyway.

we made pizza, laughed, fed and held babies, watched the kids run wild, sang karaoke.. it was great.

they got me this karaoke machine. it’s nothing professional, but based on the great fun we had last year singing to the hello kitty machine, this is a step up. i even have a few cds that can be played on the TV that have the lyrics and everything.

i need to figure out how to get itunes to show the lyrics through the tv, but even if it won’t play through the tv, it’s still a lot of fun to sing along to your ipod with a microphone. :)

friday night i hope to take full advantage of the microphone with my out of town guests (and anyone else that wants to come). we’re going to get dinosaur barbeque and catch up.

the plans for this weekends party are coming together nicely. i am practically giddy for the weekend to get here.

33 was a good year:
i acquired a dog, BRIEFLY dated a boy, bought and paid off my furniture and televisions, switched cell phone carriers, became an aunt for the 3rd and 4th times, bought a new lappy, re-did my website, went to mexico, chicago, boston (many times), NYC (a few times), PA (many times), NH, Gettysburg, saw the flight of the conchords, new kids on the block, mike doughty, and boys II men in concert, replaced my dishwasher, bought a christmas tree, a lawn mower, had easter kelly style, won some cash awards for my artwork, and showed a piece in a real museum, started and finished a painting, handmade my christmas cards, discovered MadMen, realized i should avoid eating wheat, went to a red sox/phillies game in PA, saw a game at the new yankee stadium, attended a family reunion and got to spend a lot of time with my aunts and uncles, went to another Fischer wedding, lost a set of car keys, had some great times in syracuse with KW, picked & canned tomatoes, won a prize in a halloween costume contest, got a promotion, took the first step in accepting that i might not have kids, saw a play on Broadway…

this next year i’d like to focus on my health.. i need to become more active, i am basically a sloth right now, and i think keeping up that behavior is going to result in a very short life span. along with becoming more active, i’d like to lose 70lbs by the time i turn 35. i also need to get a grip on my nutrition, i have discovered that i have some digestive issues and i need to take that more seriously.

i’d also like to see a patriots game this year, and use my 2 “companion” passes from US Airways.. the past 2 years i have not taken advantage of them.. i think a trip to portland, oregon is in order! who’s with me?!

so. i see good things to come. here’s looking forward to a great 34th year… and what better way to kick that off then with a jersey shore birthday bash with friends and family? there is no better way!

mike and i were able to replace my broken futon frame with a new exactly the same futon frame! woot. now JBP and MP can sleep without being taco’d against the wall.

i’ve spent a majority of today online searching for Jersey Shore related birthday things… i’m crazy excited to decorate, etc for this party! it’s got potential to be better than our middlesex ave 80’s party.. :) *sigh* that was pure awesome.

i think i’ve worked out the sleeping arrangements, so if you plan on staying over and haven’t let me know, let me know.

babysitting on friday was pretty exhausting.. that teagy has zero attention span.. it’s challenging chasing her around the house.

tomorrow i am not working and taking mike to rochester for his drs appointments. but i’ll be able to watch the babies while mike and SBH go to the hospital. i can’t wait to see those babies!!! i haven’t seen teagy or zoe-girl in such a long time!

i think i picked this particular cold up from my weekend visitor. LM was pretty ill when he showed up at my house last saturday, but he powered through and stuck it out all night. we went to the cny brewfest and had a great time racing from brewer to brewer sampling beers to our hearts content. afterwards TM dropped us drunkards off at shiftys, that’s where the night gets kinda fuzzy. somehow i was able to escape a serious debilitating hangover… but i did either break or seriously sprain my thumb. could have been when i fell out of the cab in my driveway. wish i could remember. :)

this weekend i need to do my taxes.. i think i have all the bits and pieces i need. i hope to see a return this year damnit!

there is nothing better than having a hard time deciding which good show to watch first. i really should be vacuuming and cleaning my bathrooms instead of watching Archer though.

i have some guests coming this weekend from MA. the Ms are stopping by for probably their last visit ever since they are due to have a baby boy in May. Their newest family member Butters is coming too. we’ll see if patty tries to dominate him. :)

we’re going to eat dinosaur barbecue, and attend the CNY Brewfest at the fair with KW. KW and i went last year and it was great fun. that was the night we ran into the owners of shiftys and ended up at a lockdown there till about 4-5am.. gooood drunken times.

if i am not too hungover i hope to go to Rochester on sunday to see my babes… i haven’t seen teagy or zoe girl in a LONG time. so. i need to remember to hydrate tomorrow. ;)

when i moved in, batman and i installed at least 5 smoke detectors and one’s battery is going dead.. but it’s not dead enough to warrant a frequent, consistent chirp, so i can’t figure out which one it is that needs the new battery. it’s maddening. maybe i can put my guests to work this weekend and we can figure this out.

in a perfect world i will sleep till 10am tomorrow morning. i have not slept in late in my own bed in weeks.

last night i was at the local wegmans and had the rudest cashier ever. i have a pet peeve with some cashiers that will give you 13 bags for 12 items.. maybe its because of elderly customers, but i prefer ONE heavy bag to 13 light bags.. and now that i always bring my own bags, and since i was buying a small amount of stuff, i figured it would be no problem for “Angelo” to fit it all in one of my bags. i brought two, just in case… so i’m loading all my crap on the belt and as i’m placing the 12 pack of soda on the belt he shouts, “ugh, you don’t have to put that soda up there..” since it was pretty much up on the belt by the time he told me i left it there.. a minute later he grumbles, “you shouldn’t have put that on the belt”. like its a big deal? so i put it back in the bottom of my cart and pushed it up next to him. then he had to bend over and pick it up turn it all around to find the barcode. then he about half fills my bag and motions for me to give him the extra bag i had tucked under my arm. i was like, “it doesn’t all fit?” he incredulously asks me if i want him to put the apples on top of all the rest of the stuff (none of which was breakable or delicate) i said “yes”… he mumbles, “it’s your call, boss”… so rude. then he couldn’t make the barcode to scan on the bag of apples so he starts swearing.. then he painfully types the numbers in twice, because he can’t read them all… finally he has to call a manager over to read and type it in for him… urgh. i will never go through his line again. jerk.
