i bet you are all wondering how i am making it without cable? well, i canceled it on july 10th.. but they didn’t really shut it off till july 20th… so it’s only been officially a week. this is what has changed:

i don’t ever really know what time it is at night. the most useful thing about my cable box was that it told the time, digitally. granted i have no less than 4 regular clocks, however, i’m not really good at telling time. :) with cell phones and computers who needs to learn how to tell time with minute and hour hands?

i bought a digital antenna so i do get about 11 channels.. mostly just the network channels and their alternate digital stations. so i am now at the mercy of the schedule of television if i want to watch something. but at least i can still watch the major shows in HD.

i put away the tv that was in my bedroom. nothing came in on it, so i took back that valuable space my portable table were taking up.

i’m reading more. taking the tv in my boudoir away allows me more night reading time. i started (and finished) chelsea handlers book “are you there vodka it’s me, chelsea”… that was a crazy quick read. i’m currently reading “the devil in the white city” it’s based on true events i think.. surrounding the worlds fair that was held in chicago..  i wish there were maps that accompanied the book though, there are a lot of references to different parts of the city. i do remember KH showing me and UP around the grounds a little bit when i visited last year.

i have a painting begging to be started. tonight might be the night i start it! :)

i feel like i need to get another ipod.. either a nano or a touch that i can load all my music on and leave on my ipod stereo.. it’s too risky to be using my main ipod as my music source, for fear i’ll forget it at home and be ipod-less at work.

way cheaper cable bill. this month my timewarner bill was under $6. it’s mostly because they make you pay in advance, but they told me when i returned my dvr that it would be $29.95/month. shiiiiit.

more computer cords please! i was inspired partly by LKs new computer cord, and partly out of my own laziness, but i bought myself 2 additional power cords for my lappy. that way i don’t have to disconnect all my cables and re-plug them in if i’m on my computer in the living room, or my bedroom. yes, it’s vamping energy to have all 3 cords plugged in all the time, but i do use the squiggly light bulbs… doesn’t that off set them?

this weekend is my company clambake. i am pretty excited, almost all the lunch crew are going… should be a fantastic time. it’ll be a hella expensive hotdog for me though. ;)

in other less depressing news, the girls were visiting this weekend and we’ve had so good times. they really are good kids and easy to amuse.

at my company picnic, there were 3 different bouncy structures. teagy love the heck out of 2 of them. here is some video.

the babes are visiting cath this weekend. they are so funny.. zoe girl is really starting to show her personality and teagy is talking up a storm. tomorrow i am taking my parents and the girls to my work family picnic. it should be mad fun, face painting, bounce house, balloon animals, byob.. good times.

i’ve been taking some videos of the girls so that EBH will know who zoe is.

i prob should mow my lawn this weekend, but i don’t think that is going to happen.

he played for an hour. one thing that bothered me was he kept calling out VERONA, NY… it just didn’t sound good.. i was also surprised to hear hes coming back to syracuse in august for a block party.

cath of course wants to gamble afterward. its obvious that she doesn’t have to work in the summer. :)

this weekend brings bon jovi at SPAC.. i haven’t been there in a long time, and i can’t remember who i even saw… it was that good a time. ;)

SC and KM invited me and the old roommates out for drinks at bonefish tonight. i’m glad we went, it was nice to see SC, and i never see KM.

i think the heat and fireworks, and traveling has affected patty. she is more of my shadow than ever lately. she’s been just camping out in my room all by herself for a couple nights in a row now. very odd..

i’m going to miss trivia tonight. :( but hopefully the team can pull out a win. :)

what a nightmare that seems to be. she hasn’t pooped in her diaper yet, but twice now she’s just stood still and knowingly peed her pants, how gross. once was outside thank god, so i marched her over to the hose and hosed her off. she didn’t care for that too much.

something else to report is the decline of lucy’s health. she is crippled with something, arthritis maybe? it’s really quite sad the way she slowly hobbles around, i’m thinking she’ll be needing the shot soon. :(

there were a couple artists that were really great showing their stuff. most of the rest of them were “eh”.

before we went to the tour, my work was giving away old dusty office furniture that we won’t be needing in the new building.. we got there within 5 minutes of it starting and you should have seen people running around grabbing anything and everything.. i kind of wish we had gotten there earlier and could have snagged a long banquet table. next time.. we were able to grab a plastic thing that you out under your computer chair, 2 computer chairs, a low metal bookshelf, and cath grabbed an office style mailbox. with probably 16 slots in it. it was fun…

right now my cable bill is $112.93/ month. dropping down to just internet would cost only $50/month.

i’m kind of thinking that not having cable/dvr would force me to be more active. i could probably read more, if there was anything i absolutely had to watch i could do so online. or i could watch something at *gasp* the gym. i’d also have ample time to do some artwork.

my HD flat screen televisions would kinda go to waste though.. although if i could figure out why when i connect my comp to the TV it makes such a scary horrible noise every 15 minutes i could watch the internet through my TV.. and i think my tv would still get the basic tv channels over the air…

i don’t know.. it’s something to consider. what do you think?

miss A and little E

today is miss As 2nd birthday! i hope she has a great day! in some respects i feel like mike and i were just down in philly, eating dinner at maggianos, ordering double of everything so we could take home an entire 5 course meal… but it also feels like it was ages ago that we saw baby auds being weighed and measured by the doctor, and yvonne squealing in delight that she was a “blondie”.

i hope she enjoys her arctic water table and her kitty card. (unless i got her the piggy card, i had a hard time making a decision in the store)

then saturday SUNDAY is my foster dogs birthday. patty poo was born in 2001, and mike and cath picked her up right before september 10th, when emily flew in from germany. so she’s the ripe old age of 9 this year.

lately i’ve been on a bit of a ticket buying spree. in the next month or so i am going to see brett michaels at the turning stone, bon jovi at SPAC (i have 2 extra lawn seats for this if you are interested), and cath and i are going to see daniel tosh on halloween! yay!!! he’s so crazy funny and inappropriate i can’t wait!

i’m also looking forward to one more syracuse weekend before i go to the cape for a big ole party at the patterson compound. :) patty and i are both going. she’s so excited, she’s never been to the cape before.

each night this week i’ve told myself i am going to open a bottle of wine.. and every night it’s way too late by the time i remember to open one… maybe tomorrow i will make sure to open it right when i get home from work.

i’ve been painting though. i bought some new canvases at Michaels so i’ve been inspired. this is my latest. i think it’s done…
