She had seen her mother throw in potatoes into a pot of bubbly, sizzley oil before and figured it was boiling. She said fire shot out of the pot that was the width of the pot and set her kitchen cabinets and curtains on fire. She had to get Bea and Chuck and run them outside and someone called the fire dept. Chuck was such a bad baby that she used to strap him down in his crib for naps and it was hard to see the straps through the smoke.
