lake ontariothis weekend i accompanied KW and some of her HS classmates to one of their “camps”. i put camp in quotes because if they consider that place a camp, then they must live in the mayor’s house here in syracuse. the place is on both lake ontario and sandy pond. it has miles of deck around it, it’s decorated to the nines with 70′s swag. i think they built it in the 70′s, and it had to have been top of the line for the time.

we had fun, played wii, drank, ate, stayed up late and slept in.. it was quite relaxing. you can see the photos here.

despite going away for the weekend i was able to get all my “chores” done, and not feel overwhelmed with housework going back to work today. that’s important because this coming weekend i am going to NYC to see my city peeps and go to a yankees game. i found out today that they changed the game time from 1:05 to 4:10. shiiiiiiiiiiit. oh well.. now no rushing saturday morning.

onto what i learned this weekend…

  1. the things i can accomplish in one hour is mind blowing
  2. if you wait 3+ weeks to mow your lawn, your lawn mower will struggle
  3. teachers shouldn’t have facebook accounts if it means i can’t exercise my freedom of speech
  4. wii games can make you sore in real life
  5. yankee stadium bleacher tickets only cost $5 face value, but 19 times that when you buy them from a ticket reseller online
  6. september 20th is NOT too early to decorate for halloween
  7. spaghetti squash is surprisingly delightful
